After many years of planning, and following a first phase of work to remediate soils and remove large volumes of unauthorised waste in Camberwell Old Cemetery, works are now moving forward to make the area suitable for burial and safe for the public. Works include final earthworks, gateways, paths and extensive tree and shrub planting. The scheme includes numerous biodiversity enhancements including native planting, wildflower areas, conservation areas, hibernacula, bird and bat boxes. All construction work and monitoring of construction work is being undertaken strictly in accordance with government and industry specific Covid 19 guidance to ensure safety of all personnel involved.
