In 2003 the existing Victorian cemetery in Mold was running out of space for burials. HDD were appointed by Mold Town Council to prepare proposals for the extension of the Cemetery.
HDD were responsible for all stages of the work from inception through to completion including submitting a planning application, discharge of conditions, design development, detailed design, tendering the works and managing the onsite works under a JCLI form of contract.
The site had groundwater too close to the surface in some parts and so the proposals included liaison with the Environment Agency in order to develop proposals for localised raising of ground levels and ground modelling in order to make the land suitable for burial. The final scheme included burial areas, soft and hard landscape treatments and new boundary treatments.
HDD then worked with Mold Town Council to develop proposals for the ongoing maintenance of the site.
