Holywell Public Realm Landscape Improvements
Client: : Flintshire County Council Location: : Holywell, North Wales Value: : £450,000HDD were appointed by Flintshire County Council to develop proposals for public realm improvements within the town of Holywell. HDD prepared a number of concept proposals for improvements to key areas of the town for consultation with the project steering group and the wider community. Following the consultation a number of schemes were selected to be developed to detailed design stage.
HDD undertook all detailed design, specification, scheduling and contract preparation for a range of public realm improvements and worked alongside FCC engineers to oversee the construction works on site.
The final schemes included:
- decluttering of the high street
- an events area
- new and improved pedestrian links to the High Street
- a new iconic sculpture for the town
- new bespoke high quality stone town ‘welcome’ signs
- areas of new paving
- tree planting
